Getting Started With the NDIS
New to the NDIS, or wondering if you're eligible? Here's a simple guide to help you take the first steps — and know that we're here to help along the way.

Am I eligible?
To access the NDIS, you generally need to meet a few key criteria. You should:
Short title
Be aged under 65 when you first apply
Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold an eligible visa
Have a permanent and significant disability that affects your everyday activities
The steps to getting started
1. Check your eligibility
Contact the NDIS or visit their website to confirm you meet the access requirements.
2. Make an access request
You can do this by calling the NDIS or completing an Access Request Form. You may need supporting information from your doctor or specialist.
3. Plan your goals
Once approved, you'll have a planning meeting to discuss your needs, goals, and the supports that will help you. It's worth thinking ahead about what daily life looks like and where you'd like more support.
4. Receive your plan
